Airworthiness Directive activity

FAA / EASA public regulatory data

10airworthiness directives affecting this fleet — recurring compliance demand for the parts and shops that serve it
Most recent
  • FAA AD 2025-21-04effective Dec 26, 2025Prohibition

The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2024-09- 02, which applies to all Leonardo S.p.a. Model AW169 helicopters. AD 2024-09-02 required replacing certain aft float assemblies or, as an alternative, deactivating the emergency flotation system (EFS). AD 2024-09-02 also prohibited the installation of certain forward and aft float assemblies. Since the FAA issued AD 2024-09-02, the FAA has determined that replacing additional forward and aft float assemblies is necessary. This AD retains all the actions of AD 2024-09-02 and also requires replacing certain forward and aft float assemblies within 24 months or during the next accomplishment of a certain maintenance task. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

  • FAA AD 2024-09-02effective Jun 5, 2024Prohibition

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Leonardo S.p.a. Model AW169 helicopters. This AD was prompted by manufacturing defects in certain forward and aft float assemblies. This AD requires replacing certain aft float assemblies or, as an alternative, deactivating the emergency flotation system (EFS). This AD also prohibits installing certain forward and aft float assemblies. These actions are specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

  • FAA AD 2024-05-06effective May 14, 2024Prohibition

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Leonardo S.p.a Model AW169 helicopters. This AD was prompted by a determination that new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations are necessary. This AD requires revising the airworthiness limitations section (ALS) of the existing helicopter maintenance manual or instructions for continued airworthiness (ICA) for your helicopter and the existing approved maintenance or inspection program for your helicopter, as applicable, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

  • FAA AD 2022-26-03effective Dec 30, 2022Prohibition

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Leonardo S.p.a. Model AW169 helicopters. This AD was prompted by a report of a protruding pushbutton screw (screw) on a cockpit door internal handle resulting in an interference with the collective stick travel. This AD requires inspecting each screw and depending on the results, modifying the cockpit door handle and reporting information, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. This AD also prohibits installing an affected door handle assembly unless certain actions are accomplished. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

  • FAA AD 2022-13-01effective Jul 21, 2022Inspection

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Leonardo S.p.a. Model AW169 helicopters. This AD was prompted by a report of a blockage in a fuel tank vent line. This AD requires inspecting the fuel tank vent lines, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

Directives linked to this airframe family in the FAA / EASA regulatory corpus we have processed — not a complete historical AD list. An AD is a compliance requirement that drives scheduled work (inspections, replacements, modifications) across the fleet; inspection directives are not replacement directives, and none of this is a prediction that any part will fail.
